Hello! I’m formerly a General assignment reporter for Sun Coast Media Group in Southwest Florida. There, I covered a myriad of topics, such as the adoption and foster care system, local development, environmental conservation, natural disaster preparedness, elections, legislation and even a pizza eating contest.
Come August, I’ll be starting at the San Antonio Express-News as a Hearst Fellow, covering local politics and city hall.
On my website, you can find a range of articles I’ve done throughout the years. To read my latest work, click here.
If you’re in the San Antonio area, please feel free to reach out with events and news tips!
A few things about me:
I grew up in Houston, Texas (yes, I was there when Harvey happened, no I don’t own a horse), I went to a small liberal arts school in Ohio (go Bishops), and I currently live in Florida.
During my first semester of senior year, I lived in NYC interning for a news corporation, Straus News, and an independent film company: John Sayles‘ very own Anarchists’ Convention. Some days I wrote news articles, and others I helped with public relations and organizing schedules.
I’ve worked two summers in a French wine bistro, and one at State Fare serving some finger-lickin’ country-style food in a casual-yet-bougie setting. I’ve interned at Houstonia Magazine, been the Arts & Entertainment Editor of my school’s newspaper, was a barista for two years, and even spent a summer hiking in Peru.
